VR for Disabilities
Last night immersion was delighted to show the full potential of our headsets to a local lady called Helen who lives at one of the care homes and suffers from dementia and is also in a wheelchair. One of her carers decided to bring her in for one of the sessions to give it a try and see how she liked it. We are very fortunate to have wheelchair access to the rear of the building so the carer was able to let us know when they arrived so we could let them in.
Helen was a bit unsure on the idea before she started but once she put the headset on she was transported to various beautiful worlds where she could relax, unwind and take in all the beauty! She was able to sit under the northern lights, watch hot air balloons and para-gliders at a massive lake surrounded my mesmerising mountains and relax on the beach! By the time Helens session was up she left Immersion smiling and full of joy and happiness.
The beauty of our headsets is that we can do so much more than gaming and being active! You can make art, escape from reality, explore new worlds and so much more all with a 4k display!
